Cascade Community Healthcare

Cascade Community Healthcare will expand Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) access for rural regions located in southwest Washington state by establishing new MAT access points throughout unincorporated regions located in Lewis County. The target population are adults with opioid-use disorders (OUD) and alcohol-use disorders (AUD) residing in underdeveloped and unincorporated areas with a focus on increasing access to treatment services. As a rural community, the vast majority of residents reside in remote regions with little infrastructure and even fewer resources, making residents particularly vulnerable to health inequities. Cascade currently offers SUD treatment services, including MAT services at our office located in Chehalis, WA. Additionally, Cascade has a long-standing relationship and partnership with the Lewis County Sherriff's Office and provides behavioral health services, including MAT services to inmates at the county jail. Despite these efforts, there is a large portion of individuals who do not have access to services. There are vast majority of individuals who reside in remote regions that lack health infrastructure and access to much needed health services. To combat this, Cascade proposes the addition of three new MAT access points located in unincorporated regions of the community. The priority of this program is to decrease mortality and morbidity rates as a result of OUD and AUD within Lewis County and ensure that individuals have consistent access to quality MAT services. To accomplish this, Cascade will establish two new access points in East Lewis County, partnering with community members in this area. Cascade will expand treatment services in Lewis County Jail, an existing MAT access point to provide warm hand offs for individuals transitioning into remote areas of Lewis County with limited access to resources. This will allow clients to be treated immediately while also preventing potential morbidity and mortality.
