Project Summary

Overarching Goals The following goal and objectives have been established to address the problem that there is a high number of opioid overdose events in Lincoln County, Missouri as reported by the Lincoln County Ambulance District’s report stating there were 143 opioid overdoses in 2021. Goal: Reduce the number of overdose events in Lincoln County, Missouri. Long term outcome: Reduce the number of opioid overdose events in Lincoln County, Missouri each year by 15% from 2022-2025 as reported by the Medical Examiner. Objectives include: 1) Increasing Recovery Support Services through Certified Peer Specialists (CPS) in Lincoln County. 2) Reducing stigma attached to having substance use disorder(s) (also known as SUDs) by increasing public awareness. 3) Increasing training and education of educational staff, general community, and first responders (efforts which will increase awareness of available treatment and prevention services and resources in Lincoln County). 4) Increase training and education of providers to increase the number of buprenorphine waivered providers and increase clients/patients receiving Medication Assisted Treatment in Lincoln County.
