Lorain County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services, Inc.
Project Summary
The RRN will target residents in (2) rural areas of Lorain County, Ohio. There are less than 0.3% of American Indian/Alaskan Natives, therefore our target population will not likely include many Native Americans. The project will primarily target low-income men and women, youth and adolescents, black/African American and Hispanic/Latino men and women. Each of these sub-populations have historically suffered from poorer health outcomes due to socioeconomic and cultural barriers and stigma. Most of these individuals are low-income or unemployed, with many being uninsured or underinsured. The LCADA Way estimates that at least half have a co-occurring disorder. Prevalence data shows that most of the target population with SUD or OUD who seek treatment do not receive it due to socioeconomic barriers and stigma.
