Project Summary

The Delta Opioid Taskforce (DOT) Initiative's purpose is to reduce the morbidity and mortality of substance use disorder (SUD), including opioid use disorder (OUD), in rural communities of the Mississippi Delta. Components of this plan include: 1) development and expansion of rural opioid treatment and counseling programs with referrals from local clinics and courts; 2) expansion and support of recovery support services in rural communities; 3) development and promotion of evidence-based alternatives to opioids for effective pain management; and 4) a range of workforce training programs.
