About Our Kids, Inc.

Project Summary

Located within the rural counties (Barton and Dade) and the small town of Jasper in Southwest Missouri, our most vulnerable families, youth, and elderly are dragged into the destructive ways of opioids, trapped in a negative ORBIT, and are spiraling at a blistering speed toward utter devastation. With a population of 20,295+, all areas of the target region are 100% rural as defined by the Rural Health Grants Eligibility Analyzer and are designated 100% Health Professional Shortage Areas in all three categories: primary care, dental care and mental health. Due to these reasons and others, the ORBIT 2.0 Consortium, a broad-based, cohesive community partnership, continues to act. ORBIT 2.0 is a data-driven implementation proposal for underserved, at-risk, and unserved citizens of Southwest Missouri to combat the ongoing attack of opioid addiction and devastation. Using evidence-based prevention, treatment, and recovery programs directed through our multi-sector consortium, a powerful force for change is in ORBIT.
