OneEighty, Inc.
Project Summary
As opioid use disorder (OUD) treatment needs have increased over the past five years in Wayne County, it has become evident that expansion of current services and additional services are needed to appropriately meet the needs of those with OUD, those who are at-risk for OUD, and their loved ones in our community. Working alongside OneEighty to enhance and expand opioid-related services will be: Anazao Community Partners, Boys & Girls Club of Wooster, MEDWAY, OHuddle, Orrville Area Boys and Girls Club, and Viola Startzman Clinic. The Consortium will address the prevalence of opioids in substance use disorder (SUD) in our community as opioids are now the second most prevalent substance in those being treated for substance use disorder in our community. To enhance prevention efforts, the Consortium Members will expand marketing and programming efforts toward minimizing risky behaviors in our youth, tackle stigma in our community and support school and youth-based services. Harm reduction strategies for those struggling with OUD will also be increased through naloxone availability and additional drug take back events. Treatment and recovery services will be expanded to include additional screening for HIV/infectious complications due to substance use. Recruitment and retention of treatment professionals will be a large focus as more providers are needed in our rural area. Consortium members will heavily focus on reducing barriers to treatment, making treatment options well known throughout the community, and strengthening collaboration with local law enforcement to assist in their interactions with those dealing with SUD. Peer recovery service providers will play an integral part in providing additional supports and linkages to those needing interventions and to those re-entering our community from incarceration. Operation: ZERO Deaths will be a community-wide effort to end opioid-related deaths and to minimize opioid use across Wayne County through prevention, treatment and recovery services.
