Meramec Regional Planning Commission
Project Summary
The Meramec Region Recovery Network is intended to strengthen and expand Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) prevention, treatment, and recovery services to enhance rural resident's ability to access treatment and move toward recovery. The residents of seven Missouri counties will benefit from this program, including Crawford, Dent, Gasconade, Maries, Phelps, Pulaski, and Washington. The network will bolster the substance abuse safety net of rural central Missouri by: (1) developing and implementing a consortium to achieve impact and conduct ongoing evaluations and assessment, (2) coordinating prevention activities to provide a more consistent message throughout all aspects of the community (healthcare, education, lar enforcement, etc.), (3) coordinating treatment to provide a more consistent message throughout all aspects of the community, and (4) adapting and activating the operation of an evidence-informed care coordination model to mitigate substance abuse barriers and connect patients with a social network of resources that complement addiction recovery.
