Project Summary
The foundation of our implementation approach is grounded on five orienting principles: 1. Create projects that meet multiple core objectives in order to maximize benefits; 2. Increase the operational capacity of the WTAN by focusing on “shovel ready” projects that can, when possible, be shared across the entire region (i.e. virtual trainings, mobile assets, etc); 3. Reduce the stigmatization of SUD/OUD by incorporating destigmatizing SUD/OUD education throughout all project elements; 4. Increase the number of professionals who are trained in YSBIRT and the data collection infrastructure in order to increase the regions SUD/OUD screening capacity; 5. Increase the available resources to navigate our fragmented SUD/OUD infrastructure. Consequently, our implementation priorities avoid duplication and further fragmentation and instead seek to provide resources that can, as much as possible be shared across the region. We are currently working with nearly every agency and organization within the WTAN project area that is funded by federal of state funding to support SUD/OUD prevention, treatment and recovery services.
