Pregnancy should be a time of hope and joyful anticipation—but for many women, it is marked by increased vulnerability to domestic violence. For those who also experience substance use disorders, the risks are compounded by stigma, barriers, and often limited access to coordinated care. This webinar explores the critical intersection of maternal health, domestic violence, and substance use, highlighting how family-centered and coordinated cross-systems collaboration can be a life-saving intervention. Attendees will learn about the unique risks and barriers faced by pregnant women experiencing domestic violence, particularly those navigating challenges related to substance use. The session will offer strategies that incorporate the role of trauma-informed practices, enhanced safety planning, and early intervention—while emphasizing the importance of nonjudgmental, integrated support systems that prioritize both safety and recovery.
