Individual state Medicaid issues are too numerous and will not be specifically referred to on a state-by-state basis.

Recovery Housing, Medications for OUD (MOUD), and Emerging Issues Presenters will explain recovery housing and MOUD in the context of issues emerging in rural America resulting from the pandemic and its impact on the rates of substance use disorder (SUD) and drug overdose. They will discuss the impact of the pandemic on the correctional system and state actions in response to COVID-19 as it affects those with SUD. They will also give an overview of how recovery housing can be developed, especially in rural areas.

Integrating Health Promotion for People Who Inject Drugs (PWID) Into Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) Services The workshop will present strategies to integrate HIV, hepatitis, and sexual health concerns into services for PWID. The session will focus on communication skills, assessment techniques, and building motivation among PWID to make healthier choices. The presenter will look at programmatic and clinical-level integration strategies and offer participants an opportunity to assess current service delivery models and develop a plan to enhance care.

Presenters will discuss methods of engaging people who actively use opioids and/or psychostimulants, harm reduction interventions, overdose prevention and response, overamping prevention and response, and linkages to care.

Effective Leadership for Community Consortiums Presenters will discuss why leadership is so important during these critical times, the intersections and choices facing leaders, responsive approaches, and engagement strategies for leaders. They will also provide strategies for consortium engagement based on the work of a Colorado Rural Communities Opioid Response Program (RCORP) grantee.
