HRSA's National Health Service Corps (NHSC) works to connect primary and behavioral health care clinicians to people in the United States who have limited access to healthcare. The NHSC Loan Repayment Program is accepting applications until Thursday, February 3, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. ET. Click here to begin your application.

HRSA will host four Q&A sessions over the coming months for interested applicants. Use the following links listed below to access these sessions:

Below are some frequently asked questions from applicants:

1. How do I know if I’m working at an NHSC-approved site?

  • Visit the Healthcare Workforce Connector and search for your site. If your site does not appear in the Healthcare Workforce Connector, then it is not currently NHSC-approved.

2. How does my site become NHSC-approved?

3. Can I apply to more than one NHSC Loan Repayment Program at a time?

  • At the time of application, you must choose to apply for one of the three programs: the SUD Workforce LRP, Rural Community LRP or the NHSC LRP program. The award amounts, eligible disciplines and site categories are different for each program. Use the comparison graphic to help you select the program that fits your career goals.

4. Can I reapply if I was previously denied?

  • You may apply to NHSC Loan Repayment Programs for each year that you are eligible and have qualifying loans.

5. How many people were awarded in FY 2021?

  • There were 5,050 Loan Repayment Program awards, 900 SUD Workforce LRP awards, and 603 Rural Community LRP awards.
